The Runner

Born and raised in the farming community of Chyasal Ward 9, Lalitpur, Nepal, Ramesh Byanjankar is a testament to the power of determination and the human spirit. His humble beginnings in a farming family instilled in him a strong work ethic and a deep appreciation for the natural world, qualities that would later shape his passion for ultra marathon running.

Ramesh is an avid ultra marathon runner, having participated in numerous races spanning distances from 50 miles to a staggering 240 miles. His impressive portfolio of races includes the Moab 240 miles, Bryce Canyon 50 miler, Canyons Endurance 100k, Grindstone 100 miler, and C&O Canal 100 miler. Each race, a testament to his endurance and tenacity.

But for Ramesh, running is more than just a sport. It’s a medium for community service. He has leveraged his passion for running to raise money for various charities, including OAR, HelpNepal, HamroLifeBank, and NECC Trail. His commitment to giving back to the community is as relentless as his running.

Off the running trail, Ramesh leads a fulfilling personal life. He is happily married to Anju Gurung, and they are proud parents to two children, Aatish and Rayna Byanjankar. His family is his pillar of support, cheering him on at every race and every milestone.

Professionally, Ramesh works in Data and Analytics, applying the same precision and dedication he exhibits in running to his work. In addition, he volunteers at the Nepal Education and Cultural Center, further demonstrating his commitment to community service and cultural preservation.
